TRICK OF TREAT/HALLOWEEN - OCTOBER 31, 2017/6-8PM

SENIORS PROGRAM
- Our Senior Program will be held at the Municipal Building until renovation are completed at the Blueberry Hill Activity Center the second Thursday of every month from 11:00am-1:00pm. Many Seniors (anyone age 55+) enjoy the monthly programs, socializing, meeting new friends and enjoying various delicious foods. Program fee: $15 (yearly) and $2
 for lunch at each program.

THANKSGIVING ON EVERY TABLE - Franklin Park Borough will again be a drop-off location for Thanksgiving on Every Table. For the second year, the Borough will team up with North Hills Community Outreach. Donations will be accepted in the general office: OCTOBER 13th - NOVEMBER 3rd from 8AM-4:30PM. Please consider donating any of these items to help a family that is in need this year!
*$15.00 grocery store gift card           *Can of "easy" pumpkin pie mix
*Large box of stuffing mix                  *Can if evaporated milk
*Large box of instant potatoes         *Muffin mix (especially corn)
*Can of cranberry sauce                   *Turkey gravy mix

LEAF BAG COLLECTION - Waste Management will only collect leaves in bio-degradable paper bags. Do not put rocks, sticks, plastic bottles, etc. in the bags. These items contaminate the mulch. Do not close bags with duct tape! Duct tape is not biodegradable and must not be used. Leave enough room at the top of bag so it can be folded or closed.
Fall Collection Dates: New Week Added October 23, October 30, November 6,13,20 and 27, 2017. All bags must be placed at the curb by 6AM Monday morning of each week. Leaf pick up may take a few days to cover the entire Borough.

ANNUAL HALLOWEEN COSTUME PARTY - The annual Halloween Costume Party is scheduled for Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Blueberry Hill Park Activity Center. The fun begins at 1:30PM with a variety of Halloween games for the children to play. Treat bags will be provided for EVERYONE in costume.

VETERANS DAY - Borough Offices will be closed in observance of Veterans Day. Will reopen on Monday, November 13, 2017.
  Refuse Collection - Veterans Day is not a holiday for Waste Management. Refuse collection will remain on normal schedule.

THANKSGIVING DAY - Borough Offices will be closed on November 23 & 24, 2017 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Offices will reopen on Monday, November 27, 2017.
  Refuse Collection - Thanksgiving is a holiday for Waste Management. Refuse collection will be delayed by one day after this date. Thursday pick-up will be collected on Friday.

BRUSH CHIPPING BEGINS:
ALL BRUSH (1/2" to 4" in diameter only) must be placed at curb by 7AM on Monday, November 6, 2017. The chipper will pass through the Borough one time. If your brush is not out at the curb when the chipper passes, you have two options: (1) obtain permit and take brush to Blaine's Way Yard Waste Site, (2) wait until the next collection date in Spring.
The chipper service may take several weeks to cover all areas of the Borough depending on the amount of brush placed at the curb. Please cut and place your brush perpendicular to the curb with the butt end out. No thorn bushes accepted. If you have a trees or tree to dispose of must contact a private contractor. Borough crews will not spend more than 15 minutes chipping brush at your home.

WINE AND CHEESE FESTIVAL -

Where: Blueberry Hill Park Activity Center
When: Saturday, November 11, 2017
Time: 7:30PM
Fee: $25.00 (resident) $30.00 (non-resident)
Come and see the newly renovated Activity Center and enjoy a night of good food, good wine and good company. The event is designed to compare and rate homemade to commercial produced wines; educate participants about wine; cost and quality don't always go hand in hand in the industry. All proceeds will benefit the Franklin Park Community Scholarship Fund.
