Senior Program
- Our senior program held the second Thursday of every month from 11:00am-1:00pm has been very successful and well attended. Many seniors are enjoying the monthly programs, socializing, meeting new friends and enjoying a variety of delicious foods. (Performance this month: Steve Haberman - Magician)
 WHO: Anyone age 55+
 WHERE: Blueberry Hill Park Activity Center
 WHEN: 2nd Thursday of each month
 TIME: 11:00am-1:00pm
 FEE: $15 yearly dues, and $2 for lunch at each program

North Hills Road Show
- Enjoy an afternoon at Blueberry Hill Activity Center of photos, stories, news of the day and more. Featuring the images for the Northland Historical Image Collection as hosted on the Historic Pittsburgh website. Presented by Debby Rabold (Franklin Park Historian) and Amy Steele (Northland Public Library Executive Director). No reservations are required to attend this free program. Light refreshments will be served. Contact 412-364-4115 ext. 309 with questions.

Arbor Day Weekend 2014 - The Environmental Advisory Council  will be sponsoring activities on Arbor Day Weekend for residents of Franklin Park Borough. Any Franklin Park resident (Children 12 and under need to accompanied by a parent). Visit and sign up at www.rec1.com to register.
Friday Afternoon: April 25, 2014 from 4-5:30pm at Acorn Park will consist of clearing the hiking and mountain bike trails in Acorn Park and a mini lecture on stream and forest ecology. Meeting in the parking lot. (Limit 15)
Saturday Afternoon: April 26, 2014 from 3-5:30pm at Linbrook Park will consist of clearing a trail and stream at Linbrook Park and a lecture on stream nutrients and aquatic organisms. Meet by children's play area 100 yards from main entrance. (Limit 20) Fee: None

Home Collection Program with Waste Management - Residents received a flyer from Waste Management the third week in March explaining a new Home Collection Program for household generated special materials. Appointments begin April 1, 2014. As part of the residential solid waste and recycling contract with Waste Management, residents now have a convenient new opportunity to dispose of your household generated special materials - safely, easily and responsibly. It is important that you read the flyer below to see how the new program works.

Leaf Bag Collection - Mondays Only: All bags must be placed at the curb by 7am. The Borough will only collect leaves in biodegradable paper bags. Please refrain from putting rocks, sticks, plastic bottles, etc. in the bags. These items will contaminate the mulch. Do not close the leaf bags with duct tape. Duct tape is not biodegradable, please leave enough room at the top of the bag so you can either fold or roll it closed.
