Board Opportunities
Board Positions Open:
Borough Council is seeking residents to serve on the
following Boards/Commissions. Interested residents should
submit a letter of interest and/or resume to the Franklin Park Borough Manager, 2344 West Ingomar
Road, Pittsburgh PA 15237.
Recreation Board - The Recreation Board is an
advisory Board to Borough Council responsible for recreation
issues and implementation of parks and recreation programs,
including the summer recreation program, Festival in the
Park, Easter Egg Hunt and Halloween Party. Nine (9) members,
appointed by Borough Council for a five-year term. Meetings
are held the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7pm.
Environmental Advisory Committee - Franklin
Park has an active Environmental Advisory Council
(EAC). The EAC is an advisory body to Borough Council.
The EAC meets monthly to discuss and comment on pending
developments, environmental issues, comprehensive plan
updates, zoning and subdivision ordinance revisions, and
other matters such as updating local environmental
inventories and assessments. The EAC advises the
borough Planning Commission and Borough Council. The EAC is
composed of borough residents, and its Chairman attends both
borough Planning Commission meetings and Council meetings to
comment on each land development application. Seven (7)
members are appointed by Borough Council for a three-year
term. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at
7:30pm
