BOROUGH COUNCIL VACANCY – WARD 2

The Borough of Franklin Park will accept resumes or letters of interest to fill a vacancy on Borough Council for a term ending January 2, 2020.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and must have resided in Ward 2 of the Borough of Franklin Park for at least 1 year.

Resumes/letters of interest will be accepted at the Municipal Building, 2344 West Ingomar Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237 or email to: ckrummert@franklinparkborough.us until 4:00 p.m. on Monday, December 3, 2018.

All resumes/letters of interest must be accompanied by a completed Statement of Financial Interest. These forms are available at the Borough office during regular business hours or online at www.ethics.pa.gov.

Members

Overview

Borough Council is the governing body of the Borough. Registered electors of the Borough shall be eligible to hold elective Borough offices. All elected Borough officers shall reside in the Borough and shall have resided in the Borough continuously for at least one year before their election.

Council consists of 6 members, elected by residents for a four-year term. Two members are elected to serve each of the 3 Wards in the Borough. Council holds two regularly scheduled meetings each month. The terms for Council members are staggered.

Responsibilities

Borough Council establishes policies and regulations in order to maintain the health, safety and welfare of our residents. A full-time professional staff implements these policies and regulations, which is under the direction of an appointed Borough Manager.
