Remember your sidewalks

sidewalk hazards

As days grow shorter and we begin our fall trimming, it is the prefect time to take a good look at your sidewalks.  Please be sure the pedestrian pathway is in good repair and free of new tree, shrub, and/or vegetation growth.  The annual fall brush pickup will begin November 2nd, so be sure to plan your trimming before Halloween to take advantage of it.

By Borough Code 180-Streets and sidewalks and 150-Property Maintenance, sidewalks must be maintained in good repair and free of hazards.  Pedestrians should not encounter tripping hazards from raised, sunken or displaced sections of sidewalk, nor should they need to step off the pedestrian path to avoid obstacles such as tree, shrub, and vegetation growth.

You can report unsafe sidewalks by contacting the Borough Zoning Department at 412-364-4115 x313 or x319.

Please help us keep our sidewalks safe.
