WINTER STORMS... LET'S WORK TOGETHER Street Parking and Snow Removal Laws
The Borough's snow removal priorities are major or arterial roadways, followed by school bus routes, neighborhood road and finally cul-de-sacs. Winter storm don'ts:- Do Not park on the street. It is prohibited between 2am-6am every day. This becomes extremely important in the winter months, so snow and ice removal vehicles can keep the streets clear.
- Do Not deposit or cause any snow or ice to be deposited on or immediately next to a fire hydrant or on any sidewalk, and roadway, except that snow and ice may be mounded by the Borough on public cartways incidental to the cleaning thereof, and it’s just not cool to blow your snow into the street.
- Do Not place trash or recycling receptacles in the street for collection. They should be placed in the grass, on the sidewalk or on your driveway. Placing trash or recycling receptacles in the street makes it harder for our Public Works Department to plow snow as they plow back to the curb. If a receptacle is in the roadway and hit by the plow, it is the residents' responsibility to have the container repaired or replaced.
Reminder: Snow must be removed from the sidewalk along your property within a reasonable time but not letter than 24 hours after a cessation of snowfall. Fire hydrants should also be kept clear of snow.

MAILBOXES VS. SNOWPLOWS The policy of the Borough is to replace a mailbox if it is physically struck by a Borough snowplow.
If snow thrown from the plow knocks over a mailbox, the replacement of the mailbox and/or post is at the homeowner's expense.
