Pennsylvania was named for our trees; Pennsylvania means Penn’s Woods. The EAC is starting a Remarkable Tree Program to begin a registry of notable trees within Franklin Park Borough in order to identify the grandest trees and help preserve these icons. The long-term goals of the program are to promote the importance of the tree canopy to our environment; promote stewardship to ensure sustainability of the canopy; foster community appreciation; celebrate the many social, economic, environmental, and human health benefits; as well as educate residents about appropriate preservation, conservation, maintenance and planting practices. We also aim to educate residents about key roles trees play in sustaining our environment. Inducted trees will serve as examples of arboricultural ideals, and/or demonstrate the long-term results of proper tree selection and placement. Nominated trees must be within Franklin Park. If you know of a Remarkable Tree, please bring it to our attention using our nomination form below. Multiple nominations are welcome. Nominations are accepted on a rolling basis.
