Bagster – Dumpster in a Bag

Getting ready to clean out your garage or start a small renovation project? The Bagster bag is the perfect size for those jobs that do not require a full-size dumpster but are too big for trash bags.

The Bagster can hold bulk waste like scrap wood and drywall lingering from home construction projects and is a highly durable, woven bag that can hold up to 3,300 pounds of debris or waste.

As a special discount for residents, WM is offering 25% off a one-time pick up. Use coupon code 113-FM23 when scheduling your Bagster collection. Coupon valid through 12/31/2023. For more information about Bagster and where to purchase it, visit thebagster.com.

Allegheny County - Online Recycling Drop-Off Finder

The new tool is available online and includes a searchable database, with map, to help residents identify drop-off places for disposal or recycling, including hard-to-recycle items. The collaboration between Health, Sustainability and Information Technology recently went live at https://alleghenycounty.us/recyclingfinder.

The Allegheny County Health Department (ACHD) will continue to have additional information on recycling available on its web page. The information currently found in the Recycling Resource Directory will be updated to prevent duplication of the finder, but will still provide information to residents.

The new Recycling Drop-off Finder does not contain information on curbside pickups but provides support to residents searching for what to do with items like batteries, electronics, or tires. These items are typically ones not accepted in curbside programs. It also will be helpful for residents living in communities that do not have access to curbside recycling; currently 14 of the county’s 130 municipalities fall into that category.

Users can filter the resources by selecting several categories and can also search for specific materials, companies, or by zip code. The map feature allows for zooming in to filter options by location, too.

The information in the Finder will be reviewed and updated on a regular basis. It also allows users to provide feedback and make suggestions about future additions.

In addition to the direct link to the Recycling Drop-Off Finder above, the resource is available on the county’s website on the Health and Sustainability pages.
